It has
only been implemented in Europe for the last 14 years. It has spread rapidly,
especially in Southern Europe (Portugal, Spain and France), profiting and using
the richness of material, immaterial and natural heritage, and helping to
create new markets in tourism industry. This segment has been following the
evolution of the tourist profile from a passive role to a genuine experience
role and as a CO-Creator with local communities. It has enabled tourists to
develop their creative potential, self-expression and learning and could lead
to innovative ideas and performance (artistic and health dimension). This happen
as nature makes you more creative and Creative Tourism is
recognized as well as emotive and psychological processes, experienced by
tourists in the company of others, being involved in processes of CO-Creation
and eating good and healthy food besides other positive
things. At
the end of the visit the tourist must feel being almost a “LOCAL CITIZEN” and emerging
in the local culture.
